House or Storage Unit?

We are so thankful for our little home. It is such a blessing to be back together. One of our favorite times of day is when we all pile on the couch to watch a television show. Roland and I sit on either side of the couch. Alex lays, sprawled out of course, in the middle with his head on a lap. Jane curls up in Roland's arms and Cali sits on my lap. We just know that life doesn't get any better! :)
Today, Roland is working on installing the garage opener. It will be wonderful when installed. The kitchen is pretty much organized now. Pictures are even starting to go on the walls; now that is homey! The guest room and quiet room are moving along pretty well too. Our patio was poured yesterday and so Monday will be great when all the furniture and grill are placed.

We are also getting "established" in Pa and our community. Roland really liked the dentist he went to Monday. The office staff seemed nice and capable. The dentist explained all his was going to do and discussed different options. The root canal went well although the infection was pretty bad. He is not in pain anymore. The procedure will be finished on Monday. I am still enjoying BSF. Our discussion group is small and has had a really rough semester. Several people are sick and several others have had personal issues.

I will be going to Western PA on Wednesday to visit Grandma for a couple days. It is really nice to live closer to her and other family. Uncle Glenn spent the night with us last weekend. It was nice to get time with him. We went for a wonderful drive around the country and I remembered how much I enjoyed just driving around. We enjoyed spending a little time with Aunt Karen on Sunday. Our first company! Yea!! We laughed about the "obstacle course" through our house.

The weather has been wonderful, warm and sunny for the most part. Alex and Jane love our walks in the park. Jane is being a big girl and walking the whole way. We hope you are enjoying the first weeks of spring too. What special plans or activities are you planning for your family? Do you have a special tradition? Wishing your warm weather and lots of sunshine!

Settling In Part 3

I hope that in your area of the world the weather is getting warmer and everyone is healthy. It is rainy and colder here today. I am sitting at my desk looking at the raindrops on the window and listening to the rain fall. Oh! I love rainy days when the rain falls hard enough that you can hear it throughout the house. This kind of weather brings me to feel quiet and peaceful. I am just amazed at the way God cleans everything! I especially notice this today because our yard is not seeded yet so there is dirt everywhere. The transformation is welcome and appreciated.

We are settling into our new home nicely. It is strange that we are not frantic to get everything done immediately. We work on unpacking and arranging everything of course, but there are many moments of snuggling on the couch (all FIVE of us), laughing, playing and just enjoying having a more permenant home. I get excited about interesting things. One example was picking up our recycling bins yesterday. Haha! I am so excited to have clean, pretty (yes, they are pretty) bins to put my recycling in! I was happy to learn trash pick up happens 2 nights a week. Isn't that funny? I am really enjoying cooking and doing laundry in "our" home. I have so much more of what I need at my fingertips.

Today, I am taking Miss Jane to the vet for an ear infection (I think). I hope that God will help us find a good, trust-worthy vet. I am becoming a lot more familiar with the area. I am exploring more (but not a lot) and am enjoying everything being pretty close. Hopefully, we will be able to find a church home soon. We are still looking but perhaps now that we have a new "starting point" we will find a great family of believers.

Thank you Lord for today! Thank you for the quietness and contentment of my heart. Thank you for the rain and the clean, freshness of this blessing. Please keep my precious friends safe and warm.
